Inaugural Acqua Hotel Spa ready to launch
A unique spa is to open in November within the Acqua Hotel Spa Sacred Valley, the first in a proposed chain of spa hotels to be rolled out in Peru.
Located in the Huayllabamba district, the property sits on the riverside lands of a 16th-century colonial hacienda.
Called Nuna Spa – ‘nuna’ means ‘soul’ in quechua, the ancient tongue of the Incas – the 26,909sq ft (2,500sq m) facility will feature treatments inspired by Andean culture which use indigenous plant extracts. There will be three signature rooms: water and wind meditation chambers, and an Inka sauna chamber.
The property is owned by the Acqua Hotel Resort Spa group, which is spearheaded by CEO Dr Jose Alvarez Blas, who is also the general manager of the San Pablo Hospital Group.
There are now plans to roll out the Acqua Hotel Resort Spa brand with further properties in Cusco in 2009, Paracas in 2010 and the Colca Valley, Arequipa, Puno and Mancora between 2011 and 2013.
