Inshes District Park plans to go on display
Plans for one of the largest public parks to be created in Inverness for more than 100 years are set to be put on show by The Highland Council (THC).
The council's vision for the first phase of Inshes District Park will go on display at Hilton Community Centre on 23 September. Land adjacent to Inshes Primary School will be transformed as part of the three-stage scheme, with the first phase set to cost £620,000. Around £420,000 of this has come through developer contributions.
A further £200,000 has been provided by the Landfill Communities Fund towards the development of the park, which cover an 80-acre (32.4-hectare) area. Provost Jimmy Gray, chair of THC's Inverness City Committee, said: "The council is committed to developing high quality amenity areas that local communities can enjoy and benefit from."
