Ireland to develop new golfing strategy
The leaders of three Irish golfing unions have come together in order to commence work on developing a strategy to ensure each organisation is best placed to meet future challenges.
A review process has now started to explore how the Professional Golfers Association (Irish Region) can work with the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union.
Both the Irish Sports Council and Sport Northern Ireland have backed the process, which is being led by independent chair and current Fáilte Ireland chair Redmond O'Donoghue.
The strategy will also see how the three organisations can best place themselves to maximise any new opportunities between 2012 and 2020.
