Irish minister unveils cultural events guide
Culturefox, a new guide to Irish cultural events available as a mobile phone application or as an online resource, has been launched by the country's arts minister, Jimmy Deenihan.
The new platform forms part of the government's bid to boost the creative sector and to help attract more visitors to Ireland by providing a one-stop-shop to a wide range of arts events. Culturefox has been developed by Arts Council Ireland in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, with the app version using location-aware technology to provide an instant map of local events.
Deenihan said: "Culturefox is an important high-tech addition to Ireland's vibrant and talented arts community which is key to restoring sustainable economic growth and our global reputation."
