January Spin to raise money for children's research
Local people will be getting on their bike on Sunday 17 January to raise money to sponsor six of Anglia Community Leisure's (ACL) finest athletes for their London to Paris bike ride in aid of Action Medical Research.
The Charity Spinning Event will take place at the Dome Leisure Centre and there will be three rides at a cost of £3.50 each or all three for £10 for those who think they've got the stamina!
ACL is donating the facility and equipment for no cost and the instructors are giving their time for free so all money will go to supporting the cause. The ride times are 9.30am, 10.30am and 11.30am and must be pre-booked.
Matt, Karl, Gary, Steve, James and Ben need to raise £6,600 to complete the cycling challenge - a grand total of 328 miles. They will set off for France on 21 July in aid of Action Medical Research, the charity dedicated to improving the health of babies and children.
Karl Holmes, one of the six-strong team and assistant manager at the Dome, said: "Good health is a subject close to our hearts and this is a great charity that funds pioneering medical research.
"The charity is now funding research into premature birth and we want to help their cause and set ourselves our own challenge at the same time."
