Japanese dome to become world's biggest indoor theme park
Japan has been inspired by the Dome enough to build its own, only theirs will be 30 metres taller and cost around three times as much. The 69,279sq m theme park will house hotels and a ski slope among mixed landscapes of mountains, savannahs and rainforests in its zones based on regions of the world, with themed rides and attractions interwoven throughout. The dome, about 90 minutes from Tokyo, will be the world's largest indoor theme park and will have three hotels, including a boutique hotel within the dome and a 50-storey property outside. The project is being developed by Korean confectionery giants, Lotte, owners of the Lotte World theme park in Seoul, and is being designed by Hawaiian architects Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo. A spokesperson for Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo said that engineers studied the Millennium Dome in its technical planning.
