Jefferson expands with Moat House acquisition
Jefferson Hotels, the property company set up by the Landesberg and Rosenberg families along with Galliard Homes, has acquired nine hotels from Queens Moat Houses in a deal worth around £100m.
All of the properties are currently Moat Houses, but will be rebranded as Park Inns through a deal with Rezidor SAS. Eight of the hotels have been leased to the operator long-term while the other has been placed on a long-term management contract.
The new properties are located in Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Telford, Lakeside, Bedford, Harlow, Watford and Northampton and together add 1,200 rooms to the Jefferson group.
The sale was handled by the Corporate Hotels team at Christie + Co.
The deal follows Jefferson’s acquisition of five hotels from Corus Hotels, The St James Club in Mayfair and a further hotel in Windsor, taking the group’s hotel portfolio to 16 hotels.
Last year, the Rosenberg and Landesberg families set up Admiral Taverns in order to acquire pub properties – in August they bought 45 sites from Punch for £14.8m.
