Johnson sets sights on international growth
Taiwan-based fitness equipment supplier Johnson Health Technology Co has announced its ambition to secure 25 per cent of the international market over the next four years.
The group is targeting further global expansion in order to meet increasing demand by 2015, with the Brazilian market one of those which has been earmarked for "large growth".
In 2010, Johnson achieved sales of US$160m (£102.8m, EUR119.6m) to put it behind Icon as the second-largest supplier, with that figure expected to continue to rise this year.
With the global market worth around US$2bn (£1.3bn, EUR1.5bn), Johnson said it will have to grow annual revenues to more than US$500m (£321.2m, EUR373.4m) to reach its target.
Meanwhile, the group is planning to invest around US$4m (£2.6m, EUR3m) to reinforce its marketing channels for brand products and establish more direct-sales outlets in China.
Johnson has more than 35 years worth of experience within the health and fitness sector and has four brands for four segments of the market: Johnson, Matrix, Vision, and Horizon.
