Jumeirah to operate Bermuda resort
Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel group has been appointed to manage the first new luxury resort to be built in Bermuda in 35 years.

Situated on 37 acres on Bermuda’s southern shore, Jumeirah Southlands will have 300 balcony suites, including 17 two-story suites built into beach cliffs, as well as five restaurants and bars.
Facilities include a nightclub and outdoor entertainment space, a spa, over 1,700 ft of beach, a range of swimming pools, an executive conference centre and an equestrian center.
There will also be a collection of luxury boutiques on-property. Around half of the accommodation space will be offered for time-share ownership.
The deal is part of Jumeirah’s plans to expand its international portfolio of hotels and resorts to 40 by the end of 2009.
Other projects currently under development worldwide include the HanTang Jumeirah Shanghai; The Jumeirah Private Island Resort, Phuket Thailand; and the Jumeirah Hotel at Beetham Tower in London; the Jumeirah Dubai Towers in Doha, Qatar; and Saraya Aqaba in Jordan.
Four further properties are under construction in Dubai and are scheduled to open over the next four years.
