Keep Fit Association launches new qualification
The Keep Fit Association (KFA) is looking forward to promoting a new programme of training since establishing links with national awarding body NCFE.
The KFA has reviewed and modified existing qualifications to meet the needs of the current and expected markets with a Level 3 Certificate in Teaching Fitness through Movement and Dance.
The three courses are now fully accredited, nationally recognised qualifications, certified through NCFE, and will train teachers to work with different target audiences – children and young people, adults and older adults.
Candidates who successfully complete this new qualification gain are given full entry to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 3.
Dr Miriam Stoppard, president of the KFA, said: “The KFA has a long history of teaching in the community and working with NCFE appealed to us because it works with such a large range of colleges and centres across the country.
“Teachers achieving these qualifications will offer movement and dance courses that are fun and provide a great route to fitness. They are therefore helping address the current health agenda across the whole population.”
The official launch of the new qualification is planned for autumn 2005. To find out more contact The Keep Fit Association, Astra House, Arklow Road, London SE14 6EB. Tel: 0208 692 9566. Email: [email protected]
