'Key events' to benefit London hoteliers
April's Royal Wedding and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games present a 'fantastic opportunity' for London hoteliers, according to HVS London.
The consultancy has claimed that hotels are now able to charge full room rates and demand minimum stays, with properties already fully booked for the wedding of Prince William. HVS London is predicting that the capital's hoteliers could benefit from "boom years" as a result of the events, as well as other major UK cities such as Edinburgh and Manchester.
Meanwhile, new figures published by PKF Hotel Consultancy Services have shown that London's hotels enjoyed another strong month of trading in November. Room rate grew by 10.5 per cent in the capital, while most regional UK cities reported small overall increases. Edinburgh, however, saw room rate decline.
