International "edutainment" brand KidZania has announced the opening of its largest kids' theme park park yet, with the new KidZania Cuicuilco in Mexico City, Mexico.
Children visiting the attraction enter through a mock airport into the 150,000sq ft (13,935sq m) city complex, which boasts 90 establishments such as a city hall, a hospital and a bank.
The scaled-down city environment provides children with the chance to choose from around 120 trades and professions as part of the KidZania role-playing experience.
It is expected that KidZania Cuicuilco, which also houses electric cars running on the streets of the eco-friendly city, will attract more than 1 million visitors each year.
According to KidZania president and founder Xavier Lopez Ancona, the park is the brand's first to offer modern career choices and deal with issues such as the environment.
A recyclables drop-off centre for the local community and integrated into the park features at the attraction, plus a disaster centre simulating events such as floods and earthquakes. A Canine Centre also features, where children can interact with real dogs.
Ancona said: "We've brought the most authentic and fun real-life experiences to life to help children understand and manage their ever-changing world.
"As we continue our global expansion, we look forward to bringing these new, relevant and awe-inspiring entertainment experiences to kids the world over."
