Kimpton Hotels to open Hotel Palomar in Washington next year
San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is to open the Hotel Palomar Washington DC in the US capital early next year, the first property acquired by the Kimpton Hospitality Partners fund which was created earlier this year.
Modelled on the original Hotel Palomar which opened in San Francisco in 1999, the property is undergoing a US$32m (£17.6m, 25.7m euros) renovation to turn it into a 335-room boutique hotel with interiors by Cheryl Rowley of Beverly Hills.
The hotel’s 38 suites will include speciality offerings such as Spa Suites, which come complete with spa facilities and Motion Suites which include exercise equipment.
A Mind.Body.Spa in-room wellness program will also be available to guests, which includes the Om Away from Home yoga programme, pilates, core strengthening and meditation as well as spa treatments.
Adjacent to the hotel, which will also offer 10,500sq ft (975sq m) of meeting space, will be the 173-seat restaurant and bar, Urbana. Details: www.kimptonhotels.com
