Kirkcaldy Galleries in Scotland reopens after £2.5m refurbishment
A single venue museum, library and art gallery in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, has reopened after a £2.5m (US$3.8m, €2.9m), 18-month refurbishment.
The Kirkcaldy Galleries now houses a refurbished art gallery, museum, library, café and Visit Scotland information centre, with the work carried out by Fife Council's Building and Property Services.
The building was reopened by former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, who said: "The £2.5m invested in the upgrading, the new exhibitions and the modernisation of the library will be of as much benefit to today's younger generation as the library was to me when I was growing up in Kirkcaldy."
