Kyle Field at Texas A&M University in US$450m revamp
Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas is redeveloping its college football facility, Kyle Fields to the tune of US$450m (£290m, €340m).
The renovation and redevelopment is being undertaken by architects Populous and will see the venue's seating capacity increase from 82,589 to 102,500.
New features in the design will include a brick, glass and limestone façade along with numerous plazas and walkways surrounding the stadium.
Seats at the venue will be lowered and canopies will be added to both east and west sidelines. In addition to merchandising options, a 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m) Hall of Champions will be built. In total, 120 suites, a high-end private club that services a 3,900-seat field box area and three different types of loge boxes will be included.
The entire redevelopment will be completed without impacting on the university's football schedule, allowing the team to continue to play at Kyle Field.
Construction begins in August 2013 and will be ongoing during the off seasons. Completion is set for 2015.
