LCCC poised to report 'record' losses
Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is poised to report annual losses of around £2m - one of the worst in English county cricket history.
According to Greater Manchester Business Week, club chief executive Jim Cumbes also warned its future was at risk if its £32m stadium redevelopment project fell through. Cumbes told the publication: "While it would be wrong to disclose the exact figure before we have had chance to tell the members first, it will be comfortably the biggest loss we have ever made."
LCCC is currently working in partnership with Ask Developments and Tesco on a scheme to overhaul the Old Trafford to help safeguard its future as an international venue. The club has vowed to push forward with the project, despite confirming in December that Derwent Holdings is seeking a judicial review in a bid to halt the scheme.
