LCI rendezvous in Leeds at new £6m casino
London Clubs International (LCI) has announced the development of a new casino at Clarence Dock in Leeds, which will be completed by late 2007 and become the largest in the city.
Berkeley Clarence Dock Company (BCDC) will design and build the £6m casino – The Rendezvous – on a 50,000sq ft (4,6400sq m) site next to the Royal Armouries.
LCI intends to invest about £9m in the project, which will include three bars, a members’ cinema, an Italian-style eatery and an Indian restaurant, one of which will be created by a celebrity chef.
The casino itself will offer a full range of slots, electronic gaming and bankers’ games, plus LCI’s own Fluid Zone, designed for the novice gambler.
BCDC has also revealed that BDL Hotels plans to open a 131-room Express by Holiday Inn at Clarence Dock by the end of 2006.
By 2008, Clarence Dock will offer 500,000sq ft (46,450sq m) of leisure and retail facilities.
