LEGOLAND California to recreate Las Vegas
Merlin Entertainments is expanding the Miniland U.S.A. attraction at its LEGOLAND California theme park in the US.
The new addition – called Miniland Las Vegas – will feature a LEGO recreation of the famous Las Vegas Strip.
It will include Luxor Las Vegas; New York; New York Hotel and Casino; Excalibur; Mirage; Treasure Island; Tropicana; MGM Grand; Venetian; Stratosphere tower and two iconic structures of Paris Las Vegas; the balloon sign and Eiffel Tower.
All the models will incorporate light and sound, while some will also include interactive features, such as an exploding volcano in front of the Mirage, fireboats squirting water in front of the New York, New York, and working versions of the thrill rides at the top of the Stratosphere.
The attraction will also feature a miniature wedding chapel, monorails and real life sounds recorded in Las Vegas.
Miniland Las Vegas – to be unveiled on 29 March – aims to simulate the feeling of walking down Las Vegas Blvd.
“Miniland is the heart of LEGOLAND California, where kids and their families can see all that can be created with LEGO elements. As a visually stunning United States’ landmark, Las Vegas will be a shining example of creativity and imagination,” said president John Jakobsen.
LEGOLAND California is a 128-acre interactive theme park for families.
