Lake Superior Zoo to unveil masterplan
Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth, Minnesota, US, is preparing a "secret plan" to revamp the site.
The masterplan will be announced in two weeks and the zoo's marketing director, Anita Johnson, told Fox News (and later confirmed it to Leisure Opportunities) that it will "lay out a process for a 20-year development of the zoo, the facilities and the programmes".
She said over the last year, the city and the Zoological Society have spent about US$1 million on improvements, with another US$800,000 in projects planned for this year.
She also said the zoo plans to apply for accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in March next year, after an unsuccessful attempt in 2006.
