Last innings for Kensington Oval
Demolition work has begun at the Kensington Oval Cricket Stadium in Barbados ahead of the site’s redevelopment for the ICC Cricket World Cup Finals in 2007.
Plans for the new stadium include creating a multi-functional sporting complex designed to accommodate an additional 13,000 spectators – giving a total capacity of 28,000.
The government of Barbados is investing BDS$90m (US$46m, £25m, 38m euros) in infrastructure development for the island in anticipation of the World Cup.
