Le Méridien brand enters South Africa
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has finalised a long-term agreement with Meadow Star Investments to manage the Le Méridien Kruger Park Golf Resort and Spa near Hazyview in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.
The resort is scheduled to open in November 2009 and is part of a larger ZAR1.2bn (US$172m, 124m euro, £83.6m) tourism project outside of Hazyview, in time for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
Le Méridien Kruger Park will be situated next to the Sabie River, near the Kruger National Park. It will feature a health spa with solar-heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
The development will create more than 2,000 sustainable jobs for the area.
