The Bodyflight extreme leisure and entertainment centre in Bedford, UK, has unveiled a new activity called Vertigo.

Marketed as 'a bungee jump without the bounce', Vertigo is one of the tallest POWERFAN™ jumps in the UK and enables customers to free fall for two thirds of a 125ft drop before a cable gradually slows them down.

Customers climb to the top of Bodyflight's recirculation wind tunnel tower via a ladder before jumping from the platform. For additional peace of mind, from beginning the climb to the roof of the tower to landing on the ground again, participants are securely fastened the entire time to handrails via a body harness.

Vertigo - which can be used as a simulated BASE jump or as a training tool for BASE exits - joins Bodyflight's other new offering Swoop - an extreme zipwire that users ride from a 35m tower, which stretches to more than 200m.

First opened in 2005, in an old MOD science research facility, other facilities within Bodyflight include a wind tunnel used by beginners as well as sky divers.

Bodyflight also recently collaborated with Wave Loch, which was developed by surfer Tom Lochtefeld, who patented the artificial wave machine called the FlowRider, to launch Wave Loch’s FlowHouse concept on site.

Opening in May 2010, Bodyflight’s FlowHouse centres around a 10m wide sheet wave called a FlowRider and also encompasses food, drink, music, relaxation and entertainment.
