Legacy corporation unveils cultural centre next to Olympic Park
A new cultural centre has been unveiled by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) after transforming a derelict building next to the capital's Olympic Park.
The Hackney Wick Fish Island Cultural Centre is known as The White Building and will bring together thousands of people through artistic, educational and community activities.
Facilities at the former print works include event space for community events; studio space for artists; and a café with canal side seating overlooking the Olympic Park.
David Kohn Architects and Michael Pawlyn from Exploration Architecture worked on the interior fit-out, while MUF Architecture/Arts designed the canal side area.
LLDC chair Daniel Moylan said: "The White Building and our other public realm projects are examples of how we are already delivering an Olympic legacy now."
