LA Fitness has reported major improvements in productivity and significant cost savings across the group since installing a new club management system.

The chain replaced its entire club management system across all sites with Legend Club Management Systems last year and says it has seen a dramatic improvement in efficiency.

The new system means that for the first time ever, all LA Fitness clubs can capture data on one single system from the moment a prospective member enters the club.

The previous prospect and membership systems operated independently, which created a few problems said John Howitt, head of membership for LA Fitness: “There were problems in passing new member information from clubs to head office and back. This had a knock on effect for our operations team and caused customer service issues. At club level, our sales prospect and membership systems weren’t linked, which meant we needed to input data twice.”

In addition to enhancing service and operational efficiencies, the new technology has also resulted in an increase in the percentage of new member sign-ups sales due to tighter sales management and increased sales productivity, says the chain.
