Management company Leisure Connection has invested £500,000 in improving two of its managed sites in London.

Downham Health & Leisure Centre in Lewisham, south London and Willesden Sports Centre in West London have benefitted from new health and fitness facilities. Each centre has been fitted with a 130-station suite supplied by Life Fitness.

The gyms have greater floor space, reflecting an increased focus on programming, and have introduced TRX equipment, a full line of new plate-loaded and cable equipment, as well as specialist motion technology selectorized (MTS) equipment.

The company has also introduced three new colour-coded training zones within the gym - with equipment designed to assist different fitness and ability levels. The aim is to allow members to better programme their exercise and increase the usability and accessibility of the facilities.

Peter Howells, operation director at Leisure Connection, said: "We want to provide local communities with the best possible leisure centres, and so we are always looking for ways to improve the facilities that we offer.

"This investment is a great example of exactly that, and members at both Downham Health & Leisure Centre and Willesden Sports Centre will now be able to make the most of the state-of-the-art gym facilities that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of users."
