Leisure Exchange set to launch
A new professional network, aiming to encourage senior managers working in the leisure industry to share best practice, will be launched later this week.
Called Leisure Exchange, the network’s primary aim is to create a working platform for young leisure managers working within the public sector.
So far, 17 public sector members have signed up and the first meeting will be held at Kirkby Sports Centre on 14 September.
Graeme Hinde, founder of Leisure Exchange, said: “There are other networks in place for chief officers and executives, but there is really nothing to cater for the next generation of senior leisure managers.
Leisure Exchange is directly aimed at supporting that group of people and will give them a chance to discuss tips that directly affect them.
“They can swap ideas and best practice in a range of ways – from regular meetings and events to discussion and advice forums on our website.”
The councils and trust which have singed up for the network include Wrexham County Borough Council, Blackpool Council, Barnsley Premier Leisure Trust and the Liverpool City Council.
