Design options for the proposed redevelopment of the Victoria Leisure Centre in Nottingham have been put on public display by the city council.

Local residents were given the chance between 5-6 January to have their say on three design options for the new facility, each of which considered elements of the existing leisure centre building. In October last year, Nottingham City Council (NCC) and Nottingham Regeneration Limited commissioned architects Levitate to lead a design team in compiling a feasibility study of proposals for the replacement of the Victoria Leisure Centre with a new swimming pool.

The study has incorporated feedback from the Victoria Leisure Centre working group, which includes city councillors, the Save Victoria Baths campaign, the St Ann's and Dale Area Committee and local residents. A final design is yet to be finalised for the new swimming pool, and NCC is expected to receive Levitate's final report and recommendations in the spring for the scheme. It is part of NCC's £18.5m Leisure Centre Transformation Programme to provide fewer but better quality leisure facilities across the city.

David Trimble, NCC portfolio holder for communities, leisure and culture, said: "The options we're considering will provide the community in Sneinton and St Ann's with a high quality leisure facility which will play a key role in the regeneration of the wider Eastside area."
