Leisure centre in Carrickfergus set for revamp
Carrickfergus Borough Council in Northern Ireland is undertaking a multi-million pound refurbishment of its local leisure centre at Prince William Way.
The upgraded facility will provide a new health and fitness spa, children’s recreational areas and better accessibility for all.
The centre will close temporarily while building work is carried out in the second quarter of this year.
Mayor of Carrickfergus, Alderman David Hilditch, said: “This is an investment not just in bricks and mortar but also in the health and well-being of the people of the borough. Investing in the centre will allow us to secure jobs in leisure for the future.
“Our public consultation reinforced our belief that local people want us to provide high-quality but affordable leisure.”
