Les Mills recruits ukactive communications chief
Fitness brand Les Mills has recruited ukactive’s head of communications to lead its global business-to-business (B2B) content.
Jak Phillips, who begins his new role in London at the end of the month, will be responsible for creating content for the company’s B2B audience across its 18,000 licensed clubs worldwide.
Speaking about his appointment as global B2B content manager, Phillips told Health Club Management: “I’ve been a fan of the Les Mills brand for a long time so it’s going to be a huge privilege to join the Tribe [Les Mills' fitness instructors] and work to drive the company forward during an exciting period of growth.
“The process of working closely with fitness industry colleagues and Les Mills partners around the world to support their delivery of great fitness experiences is particularly appealing, as is the overall outcome of a more active planet.”
Phillips said the highlight of his 18 months at not-for-profit ukactive was "spreading the physical activity message" by securing global media coverage for last year's National Fitness Day, which saw its highest number of events and featured on BBC Breakfast.
