Lichfield recreation area nears completion
A new recreation hub currently being developed in Lichfield, Staffordshire, is on track to open in January, according to the local authority.
Lichfield District Council (LDC) is working with Taylor Wimpey Midlands to develop a play and exercise area for local residents on Sainte Foy Avenue. The scheme has received £28,000 of section 106 funding and will provide a new multi-use games area with facilities for football and basketball.
An outdoor gym with toning equipment and a small cycle track are also included, while an area for skateboarding will complete the hub's offer. LDC cabinet member for development services Neil Roberts said: "This is just the type of project that section 106 funding is meant for, as it will become a focal point for the local people."
