Loch Lomond secures visitor funding
Work is set to be carried out to improve the visitor experience at Loch Lomond in Scotland after investment worth £400,000 was secured from the Scottish government.
Environment minister Roseanna Cunningham announced plans to provide funding for a range of projects to protect and upgrade locations around Loch Lomondside. Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority have contributed the cash, which will improve visitor facilities.
Cunningham said: "Welcoming millions of visitors every years means that this beautiful location is subject to a considerable amount of wear and tear - and it unfortunately attracts a small number of people who pay scant attention to the environment. "The national park authority, working with key partners, has long term plans to make sure we keep areas in the park special for generations to come."
