London 2012 appoints HR director
The London 2012 organising committee (LOCOG) has appointed Jean Tomlin as director of human resources.
Tomlin's remit will be to recruit a team to help LOCOG deliver the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and she will also head up the volunteer recruitment programme.
Currently with a staff of 80, the organising committee will employ around 3,000 people in the run up to the Games.
Tomlin joins the organisation having recently acted as an advisor to the BBC on their programme of change, and was formerly group HR director at Marks & Spencer.
She will take over the position from Vivienne Jarvis, who is returning to her executive coaching consultancy. London 2012 chair Sebastian Coe paid tribute to Jarvis' contribution: “Viv started three years ago and helped build the bid team from scratch.
"She has worked tirelessly throughout this three year period with Keith Mills and myself on putting together a winning bid team and laying the foundations for the London organising committee.
"I would like to wish Viv all the best for the future as she returns to her consultancy, which she put on hold to get us off to a flying start." Details: www.london2012.com
