The City of London Corporation (CLC) has revealed that plans for the £60m London River Park scheme will no longer go before its planning and transportation committee next week.

Committee members were due to consider the proposals on 15 November, but the deicision has been deferred following "serious concerns" raised by the Port of London Authority.

It is feared that the project, which has been designed by Gensler, will have a negative impact on navigational safety along the planned 1km (0.6-mile) stretch of the River Thames.

CLC planning and transportation committee chair Martin Farr said: "It is unfortunate that, at this time, the planning and transportation committee is unable to consider this proposal.

"In order to properly exercise its duty as the local planning authority, the City's planning and transportation committee needs to be able to consider all of the material facts."

A spokesperson for the project told the BBC: "We remain fully committed to delivering this remarkable vision for the London River Park, which has the overwhelming backing of Londoners."
