Network Rail and Transport for London (TfL) have confirmed that all rail and tube engineering work planned for summer 2012 is to be suspended during the Olympic Games.

TfL will keep all London Underground lines and stations open between late June and early September, while Network Rail has pledged not to carry out work on key routes serving Olympic venues during the period. Rail services out of King's Cross, Paddington, Euston and Waterloo to cities and towns hosting Olympic and Paralympic events are among the routes to be cleared of "disruptive engineering work".
