Luxury spa debuts at rainforest retreat
A vinotherapy spa has opened at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and Villas in Lamington National Park in southern Queensland, Australia.
The Lost World Spa is part of the resort’s AUS$34m (US$29.6m, 19.9m euro, £15.5m) new Mountain Villas development, which also includes 48 villas nestled in the rainforest.
Set against a mountain backdrop, the facility features seven treatment rooms – including two couples’ suites, each with a hydrotherapy bath and rasul – and a relaxation room. Adjoining the spa area is a 25m (82ft) lap pool and a separate swimming pool.
Products are supplied by Australian company Sodashi. Treatments harness the healing properties of vinotherapy, using extracts from grapes grown in the property’s own vineyard.
Shane O’Reilly, managing director, said: “Spa tourism trends show that people are choosing holiday destinations based on high-quality spa experiences. The spa not only opens up a whole new market [for us], but caters to the growing expectations of existing guests.”
