M&C to seek damages from Willis
Hotel group Millennium & Copthorne (M&C) and its subsidiary CDL Hotels USA has filed legal action against its insurance advisor Willis for damages totalling more than US$45m (£25.4m, 37.5m euros) due to group losses experienced after the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks.
Willis was responsible for the M&C group’s property insurance coverage and claims in 2001.
It is understood that the dispute has occurred because of Willis’ negotiation of the policies which covered M&C’s hotels in the US.
M&C has brought the action due to a combination of damages and business interruption losses experienced at the Millennium Hilton Hotel in New York alongside business interruption losses at its other US hotel properties. Details: www.millenniumhotels.com
