MGM Mirage gets a name change
Shareholders at MGM Mirage have approved a proposal to rebrand the company as MGM Resorts International. The new name will take effect immediately and a new logo has been unveiled to go with it.
Explaining the move, MGM Resorts International chair and CEO, Jim Murren said: "We believe it honours our entertainment heritage, better represents the growing global presence of the company and positions us to move forward under a unified brand strategy." MGM Resorts International operates a range of destination resort brands including Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage. It also has significant holdings in gaming, hospitality and entertainment, owning and operating 15 properties located in Nevada, Mississippi and Michigan.
