'Major consultation' for £250m Telford plans
Telford and Wrekin Council (TWC) has announced that a "major public consultation" will take place on 11-12 November into planned developments for the Southwater area.
Local residents will have the chance to view revised proposals for the first phase of works to be carried out over the next three years, with developer Citygrove exhibiting its designs.
Plans will see an 11-screen cinema; hotel; and restaurant created as part of a regeneration of the area, while the council will reveal plans for a car park in support of the new facilities.
It comes after an announcement in September that Cineworld had been named as an anchor tenant of the Southwater development, with the operator now working on detailed designs.
TWC leader Kuldip Sahota said: "The consultation will provide an opportunity for people to see what the mixed use leisure development will look like.
"The Southwater development is a hugely exciting one for Telford and will result in Telford town centre having a vibrant bustling heart."
