Malmaison moves into Belfast
The Malmaison Hotel Group has confirmed it is to acquire the 4-star McCausland Hotel in Belfast from Landmark Hotels.
The purchase of the 1850’s listed building is Malmaison’s first move into the Irish hospitality sector, but managing director, Robert B Cook, said Belfast is the perfect market for the group.
“Belfast’s economic rejuvenation has given birth to a hugely creative and energetic city, qualities synonymous with Malmaison,” he said. “We plan to create a vibrant hotel which reflects this, a place that both guests and the local community will be proud of. A perfect combination for both the discerning business traveller and the weekend party-goer.”
The Malmaison Belfast will boast 62 bedrooms, a brasserie and bar and Malmaison Gymtonic once it is refurbished - due for completion in November this year.
The vendor, Landmark Hotels, was represented by property consultants, CB Richard Ellis Hotels.
