Manchester Airkix centre opens
A £4.4m indoor skydiving centre has opened at the Trafford Quays Leisure Village in Manchester.
Owned and operated by Airkix - which runs another centre in Milton Keynes - the facility will boast a tunnel with a 14ft diameter and a 35ft-high flight chamber, making it the largest in the UK.
The centre was partly funded by The Royal Bank of Scotland, which provided £2.5m.
Following a soft opening on 2 December, the centre is holding a press day today (14 January).
