Mandarin Oriental to open second Chilean property
Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental has announced plans to manage a new urban resort currently under development in Vina del Mar, Chile.
The property will be a partner to Hotel Santiago – which Mandarin manages and will rebrand as Mandarin Oriental, Santiago – following the first phase of a renovation later this year.
Mandarin Oriental Vina del Mar is scheduled to open in 2020 and will include 195 bedrooms and a boutique Spa at Mandarin Oriental, fitness centre and swimming pool. Details for the spa have not been released yet.
“We look forward to further extending our brand into South America and to introducing Mandarin Oriental’s renowned standards of luxury to Vina del Mar,” said James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental.
“This resort will provide a complementary experience for guests at our Santiago hotel.”
Located on central Chile’s Pacific coast, Vina del Mar is within the Valparaiso region, known for its historic quarter and as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Mandarin Oriental has also recently announced new hotels for London, Beijing and the Grenadines.
