Mangalore aqua marine park plans gather momentum
Plans for an aqua marine park in Mangalore, India, have reportedly received an overwhelming response after a ‘request for proposal’ was floated.
Karnataka tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy said the State Government had received a proposal of over Rs 2,200 crore (£322m) investment into the state including for the proposed Aqua Marine Park at Mangalore.
According to the Mangalorean, he said that a Malaysian company had come forward to invest over Rs 4,500 crore to set up an integrated tourism project in and around Mangalore along the lines of Singapore, under a PPP model.
The department had instructed to present a detailed project report to take it forward, he added.
