Mansell takes trip round Three Sisters with sons
The Three Sisters Race Circuit, whose lease is managed by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, welcomed a visit from former Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell in December.
Mansell was at the circuit, near Ashton-in-Makerfield, to accompany his sons, Leo and Greg, who were completing a course to obtain their MSA race licences in preparation for taking part in the 2006 Formula BMW UK Championship.
Nigel, who once raced gearbox karts at Three Sisters, said: “Its been a while since I last visited Three Sisters, so it’s great to come back and see how the place has developed without losing its natural charm.
“While it’s a challenging and tricky circuit, it’s got a variety of different corners and gradients which provide the ideal safe environment in which to train young drivers.” Details: www.wlct.org
