Molson Coors (UK and Ireland) chief executive Mark Hunter has been unveiled as the new chair of pub industry trade organisation, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).

Hunter will replace incumbent chair and Marston's chief executive Ralph Findlay, following the completion of his two-year term of office.

Former marketing director of Bass Brewers, Hunter was named chief commercial officer of the newly-formed Molson Coors business in Canada in 2005 before returning to the UK.

Hunter has chaired the BBPA finance committee since 2010 and has been a member of the association's board since 2009.

BBPA Chief Executive Brigid Simmonds said: "In Mark, the BBPA is very fortunate to have another chair running a major company in our sector with the huge breadth of knowledge and experience that this brings.
