Martin Brothers fire up The Gun
The team behind The White Swan and The Well pubs in London is to open its third site in the capital, The Gun, in late August.
Costing £600,000 to refurbish, The Gun will be situated in a Grade II listed building on the bank of the River Thames opposite the Millennium Dome.
Covering 2,500sq ft, the 19th century building has been closed for the past three years due to fire damage but, now fully revamped, The Gun will include a separate bar and dining room alongside a riverside terrace, which runs the length of the building, a private room and two snugs.
The team behind the new pub, brothers Tom and Ed Martin, decided to focus on returning The Gun to its former glory, so the pub and adjoining main dining room has the original black fronted bar, complete with reclaimed burnt oak floorboards and contrasting cream walls.
Head chef, Scott Wade, who formerly worked at Mirabelle and Drones, will provide British food with European influences for both the bar and the dining room while the menus will include brunch, a separate Sunday lunch and a barbeque option.
The pub will also have its own rickshaw, which will ferry customers from Canary Wharf to the pub and ensure that they return safely.
