Massage Envy extends US offering
Massage Envy – a company which has a network of clinics in the US offering affordable massages to its members – has revealed plans to double its number of franchises.
Massage Envy was launched four years ago in an Arizona shopping centre by John Leonesio, who was previously a health club owner.
It was created under the premise that massages should be relaxing, affordable and convenient.
There are now more than 160 Massage Envy clinics in 30 US states with a further 243 franchises planned. Each clinic provides more than 1,000 massages to clients a month.
Last year alone, a total of 90 Massage Envy locations opened.
A number of other concepts within a similar field to Massage Envy also exist in the US, including a regional company in Texas called Massage Heights, which currently has 16 outlets, and a Californian company called Well Kneaded Massage Inc, which operates a national massage therapy service.
