Masterson steps down as Ripley’s president
Robert Masterson is to step down as president of Ripley Entertainment on 31 December after 19 years, to become chairman of the board.
He will be replaced by Jim Pattison Jr, who has been with the company since 1990.
Under Masterson’s leadership, Ripley has grown from 13 small attractions in 1989 to boast more than 63 sites in 11 countries.
“I leave my role as president with the company in good shape and in good hands,” he said.
“I’ve had an amazing three decades-long run with Ripley Entertainment and it has been a fantastic trip for this Irish boy from the Southside of Chicago.”
In November, Masterson also took over as chairman of the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA).
