Matrix launches new X-Bike
Initially released in America, Matrix’s unique new X-Bike is now available in the UK.
This new concept in indoor exercising is said to be able to provide a full body cardiovascular workout due to its patented handlebar design.
The bars move from side to side, simulating the sensation of riding a mountain bike over any kind of terrain and ensuring that it’s not just the legs but also the whole upper body which benefits.
The new bike has evolved from the ‘Spinning’ workout regime, which is conducted in a class with an instructor. X-Bike sessions follow a similar pattern, with music mirroring the nature of the ride, whether it be standing climbs, sprints or long distance rides. The bike’s free wheel gear lets a rider stop and start when required while still exercising the upper body with the motion of the handlebars.
One of X-Bike’s first installations in the UK has been at Greens Health and Fitness in Stoke-on-Trent, where it is reported to have received rave reviews. Stoke City Football Club were also very impressed and have used the bikes for a squad training session.
