Work on an extensive £6.5m overhaul of the Scarborough Spa complex in North Yorkshire is to be completed on 7 May, according to the local authority.

Last month, Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) revealed that the first stage of the project had been finished to provide a new stage area and stage lift and a converted caretaker's cottage. When complete, the scheme will have delivered a comprehensive renovation of the Grade II-listed Victorian concert hall, which will also establish the venue as a conference facility.
