May official launch for new IMSPA body
The new Loughborough-based Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (IMSPA) has announced that it is to officially launch on 3 May.
In January, members of the Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure (ISPAL) and the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) voted to merge after a two-year campaign. Marc Newey, the former chair of ISRM, will chair the transitional board of IMSPA, which aims to "develop a vibrant, UK wide sport and physical activity sector."
The institute has already been granted Chartership accreditation by The Royal Privy Council, a first for sport.
